Unfortunately, there are situations when you need to move, but there is no opportunity to take your pet with you.
Animal shelter “OTRĀ MĀJA” can accommodate your animal and further attach it to a new home.
The animals in the shelter “OTRĀ MĀJA” are looked after daily, so your pet’s stay here will cost 5 euros per day, and you need to pay for it until the pet gets to a new home.
Make sure that there is a place for the pet, should be in advance. This may take at least 5 weeks.
What you need to do in advance – before placing a pet for overexposure:
- Before all procedures – microchipping the pet with registration in the LDC system. If the pet is already microchipped, you can check the registration HERE. Registration in the LDC system can be done at any veterinarian.
- Treat your pet for parasites.
- At least 3 weeks (21 days) prior to placement, vaccinate against rabies and (if it is a cat) against microsporia.
- At least 2 weeks (14 days) before the placement of the pet, give him a comprehensive vaccination (if it is necessary to vaccinate with revaccination, then the vaccination should be started at least 5 weeks before the placement).
- Spay or neuter your pet at least 1 week (7 days) in advance.
- All this must be done in order to increase the pet’s chances for the fastest adoption to a new home and to shorten the quarantine period of the pet’s stay in the shelter, during which we cannot give it to anyone.
Don’t waste time:
While preparing your pet for overexposure – advertise it! There are many ways to find a new home for your pet if your relatives and neighbors can’t take it. Take beautiful photos for advertising, prepare text and advertise your pet on the Internet, in all kinds of newspapers, on billboards of shops and house entrances, on television and radio, after all, if your budget allows!
If you still failed to attach, you prepared a pet and you were offered a place in the shelter, do not forget to continue to advertise it, wherever you are! There are never enough volunteers at the shelter. We barely manage to take care of the guests and try to give them the best of what we can. Your participation in the process is very important for the pet.
If, nevertheless, over time you will have the opportunity to pick up your pet, and he has not found a new home by that time, we will be happy to return him to you and even help with the preparation and transportation abroad!
